One of the more low-key spots in DC, this fully fenced playground in Forest Hills is the kind of place where you can actually relax on a bench without hovering — the enclosure does the job for you. The shade trees make a real difference in summer, and between the sandbox, seesaw, climbing structure, and swings, kids from toddlers up to around 12 have plenty to work with. Picnic tables make it easy to stretch a visit into lunch. If someone in your group wants more than playground time, the basketball court and soccer field are right there, plus a walking path to lap around.
