Kalorama Park

One of the better neighborhood parks in DC, honestly. The climbing structure keeps older kids busy while the merry-go-round is genuinely one of those rare finds you don’t see much anymore — little ones love it. The enclosed play area means you’re not constantly chasing toddlers toward the street, which parents around here really appreciate. Shade trees and benches are well-placed, so you can actually sit comfortably while keeping an eye on things, and the open grass field is big enough for a real picnic or a pickup game near the basketball court. It draws a mix of ages and regulars, and the fact that it stays well-maintained makes a difference in a city where that’s not always a given.
