Forge Dam Playground

If you know, you know — Forge Dam is one of those spots that locals keep coming back to for good reason. The playground sits right alongside the pond with woodland trails leading off in every direction, so it’s easy to make a full afternoon of it. There’s a solid mix of slides, swings, and climbing gear covering the 3–12 age range, and the variety of swings here is genuinely impressive, including options for kids of all abilities — plus a communication board that makes a real difference for some families. The cafe is a proper bonus, especially when the weather turns (this is Sheffield, after all). Parking is available on site, which sounds basic but honestly matters when you’ve got young kids in tow.
