Joy Park Community Center

The splash pad here gets absolutely packed on hot summer days — this is where Akron kids actually spend their afternoons, not some polished suburban rec center. The basketball court sees real use, and the after-school programs keep the place humming well into the evening. Equipment is showing its age in spots, but nobody who comes here regularly seems to care much. It’s less about the gear and more about the fact that this place has become a genuine anchor for the neighborhood.
