Metcalfe Street Playground

Small but genuinely well-kept, this little park in Nicholls has had some solid work done to it lately — new floorboards, fresh mulch, and a replaced rope on the spider web climber make a real difference. The play structure has a good mix for primary-aged kids: climbing ladder, stairs, a bridge section, and a metal slide that actually gets some use. Younger ones tend to gravitate toward the spring turtle and swings, which is pretty standard but always a hit. The cubby area with a built-in picnic table is a nice touch — handy for snacks or just giving kids a spot to do their own thing. Nothing flashy, but it’s the kind of local park that does exactly what it needs to.
