Lickey Hills Playground

If you’re anywhere near south Birmingham and haven’t taken the kids to Lickey Hills yet, you’re missing out. The playground sits right on the edge of proper woodland, so while the little ones are queuing for the zipline or scrambling up the climbing structure, you’ve actually got somewhere decent to look at. There’s a good mix of equipment that keeps both toddlers and older kids busy — slides, swings, and that zipline always draws a crowd. Parking is straightforward, the shade trees actually do their job on a hot day, and the walking paths mean you can stretch it into a proper half-day out rather than a quick spin around the swings. It’s the kind of place locals know about and don’t always rush to share.
