Thompson Park Playground

Honestly, Thompson Park is one of the better playgrounds in Burnley for families with kids across a range of ages. The kit here covers a lot of ground — slides, tunnels, a climbing structure, swings, and a sandbox with a water feature thrown in, so there’s genuinely something to keep a 3-year-old and a 10-year-old both occupied at the same time. It’s well set up for kids with additional needs too, which not every local park can say. The toilets are on-site, which matters more than people admit, and the walking path around the park means you can stretch your legs while the kids do their thing. Clean, well-maintained, and generally pretty peaceful — it doesn’t have that chaotic, run-down feel you get at some spots in the area.
