Thompson Park Playground

Locals know Thompson Park is one of the better spots in Burnley for a proper afternoon out with the kids. There’s a solid mix of equipment — slides, swings, tunnels, a climbing structure, sandbox, and even a water feature — so children between 2 and 12 genuinely have things to do rather than getting bored after ten minutes. It’s well set up for kids with additional needs too, which you don’t always find. Restrooms are on site, and the walking path makes it easy for parents to stay moving while the little ones run themselves ragged. It tends to stay clean and quiet, which makes a difference when you just want a stress-free outing.
