Simpasture Park

One of the better-kept parks in Newton Aycliffe, honestly. The enclosed play area ticks all the boxes — swings, slides, a seesaw, and a merry-go-round — so younger kids are sorted while older ones head straight for the basketball court or football field. There’s decent parking, picnic tables if you’re making a proper afternoon of it, and the walking path around the open grass is good for a casual lap while you keep an eye on things. It stays clean, which sounds like a low bar but genuinely isn’t around here.
