Island Park

Right in the middle of Okehampton, this park punches above its weight for a town this size. Kids aged 2 to 12 have plenty to keep them busy — slides, swings, a climbing structure, and a merry-go-round that never seems to lose its appeal. Parents get a decent view of the whole setup, and there’s parking nearby so you’re not hauling everything from miles away. The open grass field gives older ones room to burn off energy, and the walking path makes it easy to stick around longer than planned. It’s the kind of place locals keep coming back to on weekends, not because it’s flashy, but because it actually works.
