Island Park

Right in the middle of Okehampton, this park punches well above its weight for a town this size. The play area covers the bases properly — slides, swings, a climbing structure, and a merry-go-round that the younger ones absolutely hammer on weekends. Parents can actually keep an eye on things without hovering, which makes a difference when you’ve got a 3-year-old and a 10-year-old running in opposite directions. There’s parking close by, a walking path, and enough open grass to kick a ball around or just let kids burn off energy. The skate park nearby pulls in the older crowd too, so it works as a genuine community spot rather than just somewhere to tick off a rainy afternoon.
