Simmons Park – Playground

Locals know Simmons Park is one of those places that actually delivers on the promise of a proper afternoon out. The fenced toddler area is a genuine relief if you’ve got little ones — you can sit on a bench and actually relax for five minutes without constantly chasing someone toward the road. There’s a decent stretch of open grass too, good for burning off energy after the playground equipment’s done its job. The river running alongside adds a nice touch, and parking isn’t the usual nightmare you get in town. It’s well looked after, which around here you don’t always take for granted.
