Riverbank Playground

Right on the riverbank in Castle Douglas, this one’s a solid pick for families with kids anywhere from toddlers up to about 12. There’s a good mix of kit — swings, slides, a fort, climbing frames, a teeter-totter — so nobody’s standing around bored for long. The green space around it means the older ones can burn off energy while the little ones do their thing on the equipment. Locals bring their grandkids here regularly, which tells you something about how well it works across different ages. The trail along the riverbank is right there too, handy for stretching the outing a bit longer.
