Winchester Park

If you live on this side of Anchorage, you already know Winchester Park is the kind of place you end up at on a slow weekend afternoon without really planning it. The play area is pretty simple — slides, nothing fancy — but for kids in that 2 to 10 range, it does the job without the chaos of bigger parks. The open grass field is genuinely spacious, and the walking path makes it easy to get a few laps in while the kids run around. Dog walkers are out here constantly, and it’s not unusual to catch a moose wandering through, which honestly never gets old. Quiet neighborhood spot, low-key vibe — exactly what it’s supposed to be.
