HaPPi Hands (formerly Kids Play Zone)

West Oakland’s HaPPi Hands is one of those spots locals keep to themselves — which is probably why it stays so clean and well-organized compared to other indoor play spaces in the area. The climbing structure is solid, and there’s enough variety in the play zones that a 2-year-old and a 6-year-old can both find something to do without fighting over the same corner. Parking makes the whole trip less of a headache, which parents around here will appreciate. If you’re planning a birthday party, the owner runs a tight ship — people consistently rave about how smoothly everything goes. Best for kids under 7, though they’ll technically let the older ones in too.
