Spanish Lake Park

St. Louis has plenty of parks, but Spanish Lake is one of those spots that actually delivers on the “peaceful” promise. The lake views alone make it worth the trip, and if you’re into fishing or just want to walk a solid trail without dodging traffic, this is your place. Families do well here — there’s room for the kids to run, a basketball court and soccer field for older ones, and shaded benches where you can actually sit and relax instead of baking in the sun. The restrooms are clean, which honestly shouldn’t be a selling point but absolutely is in this city. It’s the kind of neighborhood park that regulars keep low-key on purpose.
