Meadow Lane Park

One of those parks that actually delivers on the “peaceful” promise — Meadow Lane has enough tree cover to keep things genuinely cool on a hot Omaha afternoon. There are two separate play areas, which is a bigger deal than it sounds when you’ve got a 3-year-old and a 10-year-old who want nothing to do with each other’s equipment. The swings get heavy use from the toddler crowd, while older kids gravitate toward the slides. The paved trails loop through nicely, and you’ll see as many dogs as kids on any given weekend, so bring yours if you’ve got one. It’s the kind of quiet neighborhood park you’d drive a little out of your way for.
