Six Mile Waterworks Park

If you want to get away from the noise without actually leaving Albany, this place delivers. The reservoir is the real draw — it’s genuinely peaceful out there, especially on a weekday morning when you’ve basically got the trails to yourself. Bring bikes if you can, because the bike track and walking paths make for a solid loop with decent scenery and a good chance of spotting some wildlife along the way. Picnic tables are spread out well, so families can actually spread out without feeling on top of each other. Restrooms and parking are on-site, which sounds basic but honestly makes or breaks a park trip with kids.
