Washington Park Playground

Honestly, the playground itself is pretty basic — slides, swings, a climbing structure — but Washington Park more than makes up for it. The real draw is the setting: big shade trees, open grass fields where kids can actually run, and enough benches and picnic tables that you can settle in for a few hours without feeling rushed. Parents tend to appreciate how easy it is to keep an eye on everyone here, which matters in an urban park. The walking path is a nice touch if you want to stretch your legs while the kids burn off energy. It’s not the most elaborate setup in Albany, but for a neighborhood park in the middle of the city, it does the job.
