If you live in the Deer Ridge West neighborhood, this little park is genuinely one of the better-kept secrets in Urbandale. The climbing structure gets a solid workout from older kids, and the rubberized surface underneath means you’re not cringing every time someone takes a tumble. Covered picnic tables make it actually usable on hot Iowa afternoons, which isn’t something you can say about every park in town. There’s a walking path if you want to stretch your legs, plus a basketball court for whoever shows up with a ball. It’s a quiet spot — no giant splash pads or weekend crowds, just a solid neighborhood park that does its job well.
