Fernhill is one of those parks where you can actually spread out — the open grass field alone gives kids room to run without feeling like they’re dodging other families the whole time. The climbing structure is solid, and the water feature gets a serious workout on hot Portland summers, so expect a crowd on 80-degree days. Shade trees are scattered well enough that you can usually find a decent spot without fighting for it. It runs well for the 2-12 crowd, and the dog-friendly vibe means the whole household can come along.
