Playground – Tot Lot

This little tot lot is one of those spots that Portland neighborhoods do really well — small, unpretentious, and actually designed with toddlers in mind. The slides and climbing structure are scaled right for the 2-5 crowd, so you’re not spending the whole visit spotting a kid who’s in way over their head. Shade trees keep things bearable on warmer days, and the benches mean you can actually sit down instead of hovering the whole time. The open grass field is great when the kids need to burn off energy between turns on the swings. It’s a quiet area too, which makes a real difference when you’re just trying to have a low-key afternoon out.
