Hickory Avenue Playground

Solid local playground that does the job well — fenced all the way round, which makes a real difference when you’ve got a runner on your hands. There’s a decent mix of kit for different ages: swings and slides for the littlies, plus a climbing structure and merry-go-round that the older ones actually want to use. Benches are dotted around sensibly, and you can keep eyes on the whole area without having to hover. It’s kept tidy, which isn’t something you can say about every playground in Colchester.
