Decent little spot if you’re after somewhere flat and easy to get around — the paved paths make it genuinely usable for wheelchairs and mobility scooters, which isn’t something you can say about every green space in Colchester. There’s a bike track that the kids seem to love, and the walking path makes it easy to do a lap while keeping an eye on everyone. Pack a lunch because there are picnic tables on site, so you can actually sit down rather than eating off your lap on a bench. It works for all ages, which is handy when you’ve got a mixed group.
